As an avid guacamole eater, I have spent years trying to create the best version of my homemade recipe by trying a plethora of ingredient combos.
I have tried with tomatoes, without tomatoes, a version with pico de gallo, and even threw some cherry tomatoes in the mix once or twice. I also tested lemon vs. lime juice…lime ending up the superstar.
It’s been years now that this exact recipe of mine has been a STAPLE in our household meals (& let’s be real – snacking)! My family and friends are all OBSESSED. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I swear I have not tasted better than this….. as of yet.
So here it is, my prized recipe! (If you make, please give credit/tag me on Instagram, use #HReats so that I can see!)
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 2 avocados
- 1 pinch (about 1 tsp.) FALKSALT‘s wild garlic flake sea salt (GAME-CHANGER!!! A MUST!!)
- The juice from 1 small lime
- 1/2 cup of fresh chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup of fresh chopped cilantro
- Mortar & Pestle (really makes a difference)
- Citrus Squeezer
Instructions:
Slice avocados, place the pulp in to a mortar bowl. Chop fresh green onions & cilantro, place in mortar bowl with avocados. Cut lime in half, use a citrus squeezer to squeeze juice in to mortar bowl over the avocados and green onions. Coat the avocado/onion mixture with the lime juice. Add the 1 pinch of garlic-infused flake salt and mash in to mixture with pestle. Mix all again until desired texture, and that’s all!
*Note: In order to achieve my personal favorite texture and recipe/taste, you must use a mortar and pestle to achieve results! *Also, try squeezing some fresh lemon or lime juice all over masa chips or veggies that you are using to eat your guacamole. . . you’ll thank me ;)
Enjoy!
